Understanding Bad Trips and Helping Psychedelic Casualties

A professional development course for mental health professionals who are working with, or intend to work with, “psychedelic casualties”: people struggling to effectively integrate psychedelic experiences.

Are you encountering “bad trips” in your practice?

The recent interest in psychedelics, combined with limited access to services in Australia, has lead to a surge in the number of people experimenting with psychedelics on their own, or seeking out others “underground” who will facilitate these experiences.  Many of these people have positive experiences, but a significant number come away feeling troubled - often fragmented, haunted, or confused.  Increasingly, these clients are showing up in our consulting rooms. To the uninitiated practitioner, these psychedelic-specific clinical presentations can be disconcerting and confounding.

In this workshop I will share the framework I have developed over the last 10 years to effectively and efficiently help clients burdened with such experiences.
